Karl Chircop, Labour’s spokesperson for health, was declared to be clinically dead in a London hospital on Sunday, after two and a half months in coma following a brain haemorrhage. Dr Chircop had turned 43 on 7 August, a few days after he was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital, from where he was later taken to London’s National Hospital for Neurology.
