TechBrief: Vodafone to purchase Vodacom  de

Vodafone Group, the biggest mobile-phone company, said Thursday that it planned to buy a further 15 percent of Vodacom Group of South Africa for as much as 16 billion rand, or $2.4 billion. Vodafone said it would buy all shares of VenFin, which owns the Vodacom stake, for 47.25 rand each, 30 percent above VenFin's closing price Wednesday.
